Large numbers of Canada geese were circling over or passing over Ashley Estuary today. Being especially noisy. Also seen today were: eastern bar tailed godwit some in breeding plumage; welcome swallow, white heron, royal spoonbill, pied stilt and hybrids, banded dotterel, black swan, grey teal (very numerous), mallard duck, white and black fronted tern, caspian tern, black, pied and little shag, white-faced heron, spotted shag, spur winged plover, red billed and black billed gull and black-backed gull, skylark, feral pigeon, kingfisher, scaup, coot, shoveler duck, harrier, both species of oystercatcher, numerous small introduced birds of the field (finches, sparrows etc),
