What

Autumn Joy (Hylotelephium maximum × spectabile)

Date

September 19, 2014 01:03 PM CEST

Description

At last i was not absolutely sure if this plant is Hylotelephium telephium ssp. telephium, or H. spectabile, my guess is the latter one.
I took photos because the inflorescenses were crowded with honeybees, Apis mellifera, when the weather was fine, these plants got obviousely attractive food.

What

Western Honey Bee (Apis mellifera)

Date

September 19, 2014 01:03 PM CEST

Description

Honey bees were crowded at inflorescences of this Hylotelephium, cf. spectabile or telephium ssp. telephium whenever the weather allowed them to fly.
This succulent plant seems to be an attractive source of nectar and possibly pollen as well.
