This Palo Verde was approximately 15 feet tall, with green bark. This plant is very interesting because the bark can photosynthesize in the absence of leaves. When I poured water on the bark, it turned a slightly darker shade of green. Red spines occurred on the branches in groups of three. It grew in light brown sandy soil in full sunlight.
