Description
Male dragonfly found near the edge of the water at low tide (intertidal zone), obviously cold and stranded. Found by Daniel Sinclair and subsequently seen by Anna Holdaway and myself (I took the image). Given that this is a species prone to important migration, this individual may have been grounded by weather in the process of such a northward movement. Many individuals were observed all over the park in open areas in subsequent days. This was the first known, official record of this species for the park and indeed for Albert County, New Brunswick.
