This picture was taken on 12/15/12. This drosophila melanogaster was found at 32.829206,-117.168506. The bee was found taking nectar from a flower. There must have been a hive near by because the bee was very aggressive, and a bit protective. While I was taking a picture of another insect the bee came to me, and it stung my hand. After it stung me I noticed that it slowly started to descend, and it's back started throbbing. It stood perfectly still and died. That is when I took a picture. This observation is part of the High Tech High Insects of San Diego Field Guide.
