My camera lacks a zoom lens. The ID of these birds is certain, as we had some good scopes with us (but no digi-scoping capabilities. What was remarkable was the interaction between the Gyr and the nearby Western-x-Glaucous-winged Gull. They engaged in a stare-down, then the gull grabbed a few pieces leftover from the Gyr's kill (we think of a Rock Pigeon)
