What

Mint Vervain (Verbena menthifolia)

Observer

Date

March 15, 2016

Description

This keys out pretty straightforwardly to Mint Vervain (V. menthifolia) with its slender spikes of medium-size flowers and its petioled, highly dissected large leaves. It appears to be like a large version of Texas vervain but with larger flowers--not as large as Clover's Vervain--and large dissected leaves.

This is a little S of the few known records in Texas and may constitute a new county record.
