Leaves variably alternate --

thus occasionally two leaves can be found opposite.
Tendrils at base of leaf stalk.

Vine at edge of swamp,
and flooded during times of high lake water level.

Present at same site at least 30 years -- was photographed c. 30 yrs ago.
