Found on rotting tanoak wood in Kresge Gulch, on the UCSC Campus

Although most likely to be passed off as a Crepidotus, the whitish fruitbodies, pinkish spore deposit, and sheet-forming rhizomorphic mycelium distinguish this species. There are some very close matches in GenBank, but the collection location does not appear to be linked, highlighting another major problem with these online databases.
