Furnas do Enxofre,
Terceira Island,
Azores,
Portugal
16 July 2013
This species is uncommon but widespread all across the island of Terceira. I assume it is introduced but I do not know for sure. Mainly found in the higher areas of the island.
We spent a week on the island of Terceira in the Azores from 15-22 July, 2013. The Azores are a group of 9 small islands owned by Portugal, about 900 miles out in the Atlantic from Portugal. The plant and animal fauna is basically European, but there are many introduced plants I am told. The island of Terceira is approx. 10 X 18 miles in size with two cities and many towns and about 56,000 inhabitants.
