This Northern Water Snake (Nerodia sipedon) was basking in the middle of a pond there were 7 painted turtles (Chrysemys picta) on the same log but they dove into the water when I approached. The snake was about 1.5m in length and sat on the log for about 2 hours before swimming away and consuming a bullfrog (Lithobates catesbeianus)
