Description

The Hairy Big-eared Bat (Micronycteris hirsuta) feeds on insects, consisting mainly katydids, cockroaches, June beetles, and Lepidoptera larvae, which are gleaned from vegetation. Apparently rare and widespread in Trinidad, this bat was captured, processed and released during the recent 2014 Trinibats Expedition in Trinidad's Northern Range.
