Sighted a feral European honeybee colony on the trunk of an interior live oak tree within the American River parkway. This particular one is quite large, and appears to have survived the previous winter from last year. The colony is fairly hidden, barely visible from a narrow walking path, and surrounded by a lot of poison oak. This has probably helped it survive this long without disruption. The exact location is not given to avoid unwanted interference.
