Current Results!

Thank you to all students and taxonomic experts who helped to find 494 species at the BioBlitz this year! We could not have done it without you! This count is from our paper data sheets and the research grade iNaturalist observations.

Some highlights include our first owls spotted (heard) at one of our BioBlitzes, our first opossum, and our first salamanders (3 species!). We also found the most birds of any of our BioBlitzes - 80 species!

We're still waiting for a few teams to finish their lab analyses, so I expect this number to increase as time goes on. Stay tuned!

Every year, Macaulay Honors College holds a fall BioBlitz as part of their Science Forward curriculum.
