"Backyard Phenology: Tracking natures cycles in a changing climate" demonstrates how art, science, and place-based observations can come together to catalyze awareness of and action on climate change. Using iNaturalist we are compiling images and observations of the cycles and seasons of the Twin Cities urban ecosystem.
Backyard Phenology also fields a Climate Chaser Mobile Lab that records people’s observations and perceptions about our changing climate as well as a place to share their theories of change. The project hosts workshops throughout the Twin Cities Metro area that feature experts in topics such as bird language, animal track recognition, observing phenology using Nature’s Notebook (www.usanpn.org).
