Launching of this project

I started this project, inspired by the National Geographic Society's Global Snapshot of Biodiversity which tallies species observations from May 15 - May 25, 2015.

And documenting the high diversity of species in our area is a worthy goal itself, so this seemed like the perfect time to create a project here!

I hope as many people as possible contribute, especially between May 15 and 25, but beyond as well.

About

This is a collection of observations of organisms from the Cuyamaca Mountains, San Diego County, California, USA.

The Cuyamaca Mountains, part of the larger Peninsular Ranges, have distinct seasons, often with snow and freezing temperatures in the winter and warm (sometimes over 100 degree) temperatures in the summer.
