Description

Not sure what occurs this high that would leave this dung: a blue duiker? a giant rat?

Observer

Description

Duiker dung. There are two options on Bioko: blue (smaller) & red (bigger). The pellets looked 'big' to me, for whatever that's worth. Maybe red?

Description

Seen on a busy Malabo street, roosting in palm trees. Possible that these are Rousettus (either R. aeyptiacus or angolensis) but a Google image search looks like it better matches Eidolon helvum.

Crappy pictures and I'm not 100% confident of ID, but in support of a palm-nut vulture ID: (a) face looks like it has some color, (b) tail is relatively short, and (c) I saw several other palm-nut vultures on island (and one hanging dead for sale).
