This project will be used to assess the biodiversity of the areas surrounding Eagle School of Madison, including the retention pond, bike path, marsh, prairie and nearby woodlands. Eagle School 4th graders are learning about why biodiversity is important and what are interdependencies amongst the species found in these ecosystems. This project focuses on species found near the retention pond. We will also be using a DNR trailcam at this site to monitor species using Snapshot Wisconsin.

Our students will be going out regularly to identify species, but we welcome observations made by members of the surrounding community to join us in identifying the species within walking distance of our school. We will have 2 other bioblitz projects we are asking the community to join us in - the prairie and retention pond ecosystems. less ↑
