Taxonomic notes: This species was removed from the synonymy of Ischnocnema bolbodactyla by Pombal and Cruz (1999).

This species is known only from Paranapiacaba, in São Paulo State, Brazil, at around 800m asl.

It is known only from the type specimen (which is in bad condition), so there is no information on its population status.

Its habitat requirements are unknown, but the type locality was primary forest at the time of collection.
