Kārearea, the New Zealand Falcon (Falco novaeseelandiae) is the only remaining bird of prey endemic to New Zealand.
Often seen in steep country and rivers valleys, both open and in bush. Look out for territorial behaviour ... Kārearea are known to attack unwary passers-by!
