June's Record of the Month!

Have you ever seen a lizard in the lower Lake Erie region? They are a rare find, and may only offer a fleeting glimpse before they scamper off and disappear into cover. June’s Record of the Month is an observation of a five-line skink by vmj_53 (http://www.inaturalist.org/observations/1676905). This observation represents one of only three records of skinks in the Lower Lake Erie Region CSI Project. Relatively little is known of the natural history of skinks in our region, and your observations can help biologists learn more about these cool and colorful members of our fauna. Know where some skinks hang out? Snap a photo and share your observations so we can fill the gaps in our understanding of these LEAP’ing lizards!
