Seaside Day Camp - 2017 San Elijo State Beach BioBlitz

This project serves as a curated collection of observations made by the citizen scientists of Seaside Day Camp, in collaboration with WILDCOAST and the City of Encinitas.

Seaside Day Camp is invited to participate in an exciting bioblitz for the 2017 Snapshot Cal Coast. Campers will explore the sandy shoreline of San Elijo State Beach to observe and document the coastal biodiversity of Encinitas - we will be searching for crabs, shorebirds, kelp, surfgrass, anything!

Snapshot Cal Coast is a statewide initiative to document the biodiversity of California and bring attention to the Marine Protected Areas (MPAs). The effort is coordinated by the California Academy of Sciences and the Marine Protected Area Collaborative Network. Snapshot Cal Coast runs from Friday, June 23rd to Sunday, July 2nd.
