This project is designed to capture all aspects of Totara Park which is a large greenspace in the South of Auckland, it contains forest remnants and a wetland, it also has large area of grazing for beef stock. It is contiguous with Auckland Botanic Gardens, another beautiful greenspace in the South.
The Puhinui Stream (one of Auckland's longest) runs through he park and some of its tributary's originate on the northern side of the park.
It is a well used recreational space for many Aucklanders, activities include mountain-biking, walking, horse-riding, picnicing, tennis(free), bird watching and just nature loving.
There is a public swimming pool set among the trees(free entry), nearby is a historic home which is now a reception centre called Beaufords.
