Important Update For the Village Creek Bioblitz

The weather is looking fantastic and we are looking forward to the bioblitz this weekend! Here are a couple of updates:

Due to high water, we are not going to do the paddle. With high water we will not be able to access the banks and conduct the surveys that we hoped to. Instead, we are going to focus on conducting land based surveys. Our fish team, our herpetologist, our botanist, and other experts will still be leading field trips on that Saturday, just not by kayak.

At least one survey will be to a slough so if you want to work with the fish team you should bring clothes that can get wet.

You are still welcome to participate by kayak (if it is safe), but you will need to have your own boat and organize your shuttle. If you plan to kayak, let me know if you need help with the shuttle.

Also, on Friday evening I will be available to go over the bioblitz and how to contribute observations. Meet us either at the pavilion or the visitors center ...more ↓
