Taxonomic nomenclature for these legless skinks seems confusing, but Acontias lineatus is my best guess for the Kalahari species. Please correct me if I'm wrong--I don't have a SA herp book.
We would find these guys occasionally on dung transects, mostly by kicking suspected steenbok middens and unearthing them by coincidence.
