Immature Central Texas Leaf Katydid - "Red Katydid"

What a fantastically vivid little grasshopper. I rarely get such clear shots of grasshoppers (with the exception of the massive, lumbering lubber grasshoppers). They tend to elude me... But not this one. This little fella' was content to sit on its post overlooking the canal between Lake Beauclair and Lake Carlton at Trimble Park.
