torn between swainson's and bicknell's - seems habitat all wrong for bicknell's so i am going to go with swainson's - i am quite certain that it was not a hermit thrush, grey cheeked thrush, or wood thrush......sorry no photo but two pretty good looks at this bird - used 3 references but they did not all line up with each other ...no song to assist me while i was there - thanks for your questions
Catharus is a genus of birds in the thrush family Turdidae. It contains the small, mostly insectivorous or omnivorous migrant thrushes of North America and the nightingale-thrushes of Central and South America. Its closest relative is the Wood Thrush of the monotypic genus Hylocichla (Winker & Pruett, 2006) which is sometimes merged into Catharus.
