Description

As a special treat at the end of the morning, our guide took us off trail & showed us this guy. Digiscoped at extreme range -- sorry it's not a better shot, but I couldn't resist posting it anyway.

Description from Wikipedia

The Spectacled Owl, Pulsatrix perspicillata, is a large tropical owl. It is a resident breeder from southern Mexico and Trinidad south to southern Brazil, Paraguay and northwestern Argentina. There are six subspecies.
