Description

Found in shallow pools of water near streams in Farankaraina. Probably these are not Mantidactylus biporus but one of the many aff. biporus in the Glaw & Vences 2007 field guide.

Description

This is a frog species in the Mantidactylus biporus complex, found in Ranomafana National Park. This individual was in a shallow, rocky, slow-moving stream. Location approximate.

Description from Wikipedia

Mantidactylus biporus is a species of frog in the Mantellidae family. It is endemic to Madagascar. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical moist montane forests, rivers, intermittent rivers, swamps, freshwater marshes, intermittent freshwater marshes, and heavily degraded former forest. It is threatened by habitat loss.
