Black Racer on the bike trail
Probably had recently eaten wren eggs from nest under the canoe beside the garage.
Ignore rubber snake on bin.
This was a large (over 12") snake in my garden today.
It was a largely black snake two feet long slithering away at Rich Branch trail.
Coluber constrictor is a species of nonvenomous, colubrid snake, endemic to North America and Central America. Eleven subspecies, including the nominotypical subspecies, are recognized, which as a group are commonly referred to as the eastern racers.
