Description

We found a pair of 4.5-inch brown-backed, orange-bellied Roughskin Newts in a woodpile. One alive, the other deceased. The weather had been particularly dry for two weeks, and little natural forest was nearby.

Description from Wikipedia

The Wandering Salamander (Aneides vagrans) is a species of salamander in the Plethodontidae family. It is found in Canada and the United States. Its natural habitat is temperate forests. It is threatened by habitat loss.
