This Larvas where temporarily extracted from their habitat during Viennas Bioblitz 2014 "Tag der Artenvielfalt" which tries to catalogue as many species as it can in 24 hours. They were handled and identified by biologists and released back into their ponds. This kind of newt reproduces in Ponds without fish, in dry years they might not reproduce at all, in wet years more then once.
