Description

A beautiful (4.5ft) coachwhip found underneath a slab of dolomite on the Missouri mini-deserts. I was surprised to see it play dead like an Eastern Hognose :] That definitely made my day!

Masticophis flagellum is a species of non-venomous colubrid snakes commonly referred to as coachwhips or whip snakes. There are seven recognized subspecies.
