SÅ«ta (Sanskrit: à ¤¸à ¥‚à ¤¤) refers both to the bards of Puranic stories and to a mixed caste. According to Manu Smriti (10.11.17) the sÅ«ta caste are children of a Kshatriya father and Brahmin mother.
