Between Woy Woy Landfill and Mt Wondabyne, not far the Rocky Ponds intersection. Was bathing in a large puddle on the trail before I startled it into the bush.
Not a photo, but I did see its bright red belly clearly.

I was having a barbeque with some city friends when this fellow came from behind the Barbeque and slithered along the side of the house. It was around 57 cm (Just under 2 foot) in length.
Although quite venemous - it is not as dangerous as most of the other members of the Pseudechis genus.
