Dumeril's monitor (Varanus dumerilii) is a member of the Varanidae family found in Southeast Asia. It is found in southern Burma and south of the Isthmus of Kra in Thailand. Varanus doreanus is also found in peninsular Malaysia, throughout Borneo, Sumatra, Riou and other smaller islands of Indonesia. Their habitat is mangrove swamps. They were more common in the pet trade in the 20th century, but are rarer now.
