Mother and one of several offspring bred in collection of Robert Sprackland. This was one of the first known captive breedings for the species, and lead to discovery of parental care of offspring.
The Chinese crocodile lizard (Shinisaurus crocodilurus) is a semi-aquatic lizard found only in cool forests in the Hunan, Guangxi Zhuang, and Guizhou provinces of China.
