Description

A Pink Lady's Slipper- Cypripedium acaule, also called Moccasin Flower, in the woods at Distant Hill Gardens. Another beautiful native wildflower here in New Hampshire.

Description from Wikipedia

Cypripedium acaule is a member of the orchid genus Cypripedium. Members of this genus are commonly referred to as lady's slipper orchids. First described in 1700, Cypripedium acaule is commonly referred to as the Pink Lady's Slipper. The Pink Lady's Slipper is the provincial flower of Prince Edward Island, Canada, and in Nova Scotia, Canada it is considered endangered and is protected by law.
