Woodlice, or "roly-polies," are found today worldwide. Woodlice populations in the Americas arrived from Europe by sea alongside humans. They feed on dead plants, fungi, algae, and decaying animals. They also have predators such as: frogs, birds, insects, centipedes, and spiders. Woodlice are important to the ecosystems because they help quicken the process of decaying dead organism to decompose and are a major food source for many living organisms.
