Baby blue eyes at Bouverie Wildflower Preserve. Boraginaceae. Nemoph'ila: from the Greek nemos, "a glade," and phileo, "to love," meaning that it has "an affinity for groves" (ref. genus?Nemophila)
4-5" tall, north facing slope, light blue at petal margins, fades to white toward center, blue dots and veins, leaves 5-7 lobed
Collected for herbarium
This attractive Nemophila was seen in bloom in the southern riparian area of Chiles Creek. The flower colouration suggests var. atomaria. Note the small fragment of lace lichen decorating the image (as found in situ).
