Flowering in January in coastal NW California. 5 unfused petals, 5 stamen, 5 unfused sepals, fused stigma. Found in open meadow surrounded by dune forest.

Baby blue eyes at Bouverie Wildflower Preserve. Boraginaceae. Nemoph'ila: from the Greek nemos, "a glade," and phileo, "to love," meaning that it has "an affinity for groves" (ref. genus?Nemophila)
