The Picramniales are a small, mainly neotropical order of plants containing one family, the Picramniaceae, and two genera Picramnia and Alvaradoa. Members of the order were formerly placed in the family Simaroubaceae, in the order Sapindales. The most recent standard classification of the Angiosperms however (the APG III system) distinguishes it as a separate order. It belongs to the malvids, one of the three groups that constitute the rosids.
