Fun little forest bird that played nice for the observation/camera - a rarity in and of itself.
White morph.
I made a slight correction on the location of the observation, it is now completely accurate. Goshaini is a small village of Himachal Pradesh, in the foothills of the Himalayas, about 1,700 meters above sea level.
The subspecies observed is Terpsiphone paradisi leucogaster. This subspecies is the most northerly distributed, leading to Nepal, and the northern area of Pakistan.
On this website, have been considered out of range observation, and this is not true. I have more pictures of this bird, taken on the same day, and Goshaini village photos with the same date, to show that in Goshaini, this species is present.
The Monarch Flycatchers (Monarchidae) comprise a family of passerine birds which includes boatbills, shrikebills, paradise-flycatchers, and magpie-larks.
