Subspecies of Graptemys ouachitensis (sensu lato) elevated to species status, if its in the Mississippi drainage it should be considered Graptemys ouachitensis (sensu stricto) if its in the Sabine drainage on the Texas/Louisiana border - it should be Graptemys sabinensis
