Kew WCSPF favors Cornus rugosa as the accepted name, Swida the synonym: http://apps.kew.org/wcsp/synonomy.do?name_id=47494. I will just switch the name status of Cornus rugosa for now rather than doing a swap, since the sources are split.

Hi eraskin, I personally don't have a horse in the Kew v. New England differences race. So I'm fine if you make a taxon swap from Swida rugosa back to Cornus rugosa. Is that wohat you mean? What do yu mean by 'switch the name status'?

That is what I meant, but I also don't have strong feelings about this particular taxon. What I did was edit the name Cornus rugosa under the taxon Swida rugosa, switching it from "currently accepted" = false to "currently accepted" = true (removing the strikethrough of the name Cornus rugosa), which I thought was a reasonable compromise demonstrating that each name is accepted by some authorities.

Taxa should only have one accepted sci-name so I returned Cornus rugosa to an invalid synonym for Swida rugosa. If you want to go with Swida rugosa rather than Cornus rugosa, just make a new taxon swap (like this one) but starting with Swida rugosa 204192 and ending with Cornus rugosa 58745. Does that make sense? http://www.inaturalist.org/taxon_swaps/new
