Interested in tracking for the purpose of wildlife monitoring studies and locating injured/orphaned animals. Goal is to quickly distinguish common tracks and signs of mammals, birds, hawks, rodents etc. and recognize when an unusual track or sign is present. Also intend to document sightings or signs of any elusive or rare species. I hike daily in Southern Arizona and document tracks/signs to help with all of the following:

  1. Track & sign identification
  2. Effects of aging and weather
  3. Differences in impressions in various substrates
  4. Recognizing different gaits
  5. Noting changes in travel, diet, migration
