What

Spreading Sida Sida abutifolia

Observer

ellen5

Date

Place

Texas, US (Google, OSM)

Description

Surprising in this location; the nearest charted Sida plants should be at least 3 counties away.
This plant features stellate hairs (look underneath the leaves, photo 5) and is covered with very short ones.
S. abutilon is supposed to feature long hairs, which seems to rule this out.
S. neomexicana is supposed to have flowers, fruits congested at the ends of stems, which seems not to be the case. Or maybe those few axillar ones don't count?

USDA lists this species as introduced, BONAP as adventive
