Description

Feral, growing on island in treatment pond that has not been landscaped for many years.

I am finding that all of the palms I have seen at Sweetwater are feral Mexican fan palms, with bold regularly-spaced spines that are reminiscent of Rosa thorns, short hastate, leaf segments not cut

Description

Feral, growing on edge of pond. Note teeth, shallow leaf cut, short hastate, dark coloration up the spine on even young petioles.

Well over 1 m tall. Large broad leaves 3-4 cm long and across. Interesting phenology, could not find any fruits.
