Black with Orange Spots (Paropsisterna?)
Identified as Peltoschema tetraspilota on Bowerbird by Martin Lagerwey: "Hemispherical paropsines on Acacia are almost all Peltoschema. I know of two Paropsisterna on Acacia but none in Victoria. Some are coccinellid mimics as this one is. Peltoschema have a distinguishing pair of trichobothria on the anterior corner of the pronotum which is extremely difficult to see even with modern macro cameras. This feature is the definitional distinction for the two genera but the foodplant will be a good guide with a very few exceptions."

Darker Soldier Fly
Identified as Inopus on Bowerbird by Tony D.: "The shape of the antennae last segment are important for diagnosing this genus, ie either widest in the middle or generally sub-parallel (thus they lack the generally tapering from base to apex as seen in the most other Chiromyzinae soldier flies, except Chiromyza which don't taper but the base is the widest section). Female Inopus are notable also for the very wide head with small eyes."

Lighter Soldier Fly
Identified as Inopus on Bowerbird by Tony D.: "We have similar looking ones here in Tassie, ie with similar shaped antennae and appearing to be variably fuscous within the same population. I've not been able to satisfactorily place to species level."
