Description

This Renealmia aromatica was growing in the garden at the lodge, and labelled. It was described as a local understory plant in the rainforest, native to tropical America, used by indigenous people as shampoo and deodorant. When the white flowers open, it is most fragrant. I liked the fact that the insect hovering by it matched its colors perfectly.
