I went up to McKinney today to present to the Blackland Prairie Master Naturalists in the evening -- but during the day, I worked in the library. I had a late lunch at this soccer complex which had some nice wildlife habitat on the edge.

Description

I'm labeling this as E. jejunata because of the following differences with Common Eupithecia:
-- Longer, more pointed FWs,
-- Lack of a prominent white spot in the inner angle of the FW,
-- Dark dots down the middle of each abdomenal segment,
-- Different thorax pattern.

I may be overlooking E. interruptaria which has a lot of fine crosslines on the FWs, but this is my present thinking.

Description

I posted a moth this morning that I was not able to identify.
https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/20079435
@dusty_in_vilas-tx
suggested an ID of Orthosia annulimacula
and suggested an MPG page at:
http://mothphotographersgroup.msstate.edu/species.php?hodges=10497&state=TX
I believe the ID is correct. Since it appears to be the first record of this species for the Austin area I went outside to take a few more shots of it. While I was again taking images of the live bug on my window sill, I noted a dead moth on the deck below the live one. Picking it up, I think it may the same species but it is marked somewhat differently. I brought the dead moth into the house and took some shots of it posted here. The specimen is in good shape so I have put it into a small container and it is now in the freezer. @ptexis @gcwarbler if this present obs is indeed Orthosia annulimacula perhaps you can suggest a good place for the moth specimen to be deposited?

This might be a Pococera (e.g. P. callipeplella) but it has a fairly strong resemblance to #5621.2 Stenopaschia trichopteris.
